Jamie Ann Vanover

December 19, 1984 ~ April 6, 2018 (age 33)

 

Jamie Ann Vanover, born December 19, 1984 in Somerset, KY, went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2018.  After a courageous battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully at her home.

Jamie was raised in Somerset, KY and Cumberland Gap, TN.  She graduated from Powell Valley High School.  Jamie earned an Associates of Science from Walters State Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from Lincoln Memorial University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Lincoln Memorial University.  She held a teaching credital and has taught at Claiborne High School, as well as Heritage Christian Academy where she spent her last 3 years of her decade of educating students that she dearly loved.

She was the daughter of James (Jim) and Lucy Vanover.  Besides her parents, Jamie leaves behind her two amazing children, Alexus and Grayson; Brother and Sister-in-Law, Dylan and Brooke Ensor; Grandmothers, Carolyn Luckett and Geneva Ewing; Aunts and Uncle, Joe Ewing, Glenda Luckett, Martha Jeffries, and Teresa Adams; and Nephew, Jacob Marsee.  Jamie will also be forever remembered by numerous family and dear friends.

Jamie was preceded in death by her Sister, Amy Jo Mattingly; Grandparents, James “Bud” Vanover, Betty Jo Vanover, Gordon Ratliff, and Melvin Ewing; Aunt, Patty Vanover.

A Celebration of Life will be held April 8, 2018 at 4PM at Haynes Flat Baptist Church with Pastor Travis Dunn officiating.  A bereavement dinner will be held following the service.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jamie Vanover’s Journey special account at Commerical Bank in Harrogate, TN.
